Am I a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?
Stubborn love handles, inner thigh fat and double chin are the most common complaints among women. No matter how much we may diet or strain ourselves at the gym, these areas of stubborn fat do not seem to go away. Have you maintained a healthy lifestyle and just want a boost in your appearance without going under the knife? Invasive cosmetology procedures scare you? If you answered YES, then CoolSculpting may be for you.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a noninvasive procedure that freezes and eliminates fat cells. This procedure does not use any needles, incisions or knives or have a painful recovery. CoolSculpting uses cold compression on the skin to kill off those pesky fat cells diet and exercise seem to miss . Unlike Liposuction, this procedure may take 2-3 months to see full results, however, the results are more permanent as the fat cells in that area are totally eliminated. Please note, CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure—it is used to target stubborn areas of fat only.
CoolSculpting vs. Lipsuction
What is the difference between CoolSculpting and Liposuction? CoolSculpting is designed to treat smaller areas, unlike liposuction which can be used to remove larger areas of fat. CoolSculpting may take up to an hour per procedure depending on the area treated and the end results are typically seen between 2-3 months. As stated before, there is no down time when doing CoolSculpting, you can even come during your lunch hour and return to work afterwards. You can continue your daily activities immediately after the procedure.
Side effects of CoolSculpting, which are minor and rare, may include:
Liposuction requires surgery and anesthesia and may take 2-4 weeks for the recovery process. Swelling, bruising and soreness may last for a few additional weeks on top of that. Liposuction is a procedure which will suck the fat out of your body rather than remove the source.
With Liposuction, the results are seen sooner but also have many side effects, including:
- Damage to nerves, Damage to blood vessels, Damage to muscles, Damage to Lungs and abdominal organs, Uneven fat removal
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
A trained clinician will place the device on the targeted area. The device then pulls the area between panels and cools the fat cells to just above freezing which causes the fat cells to crystalize. Since fat cells freeze at a much lower temperature than organs, it will not damage any surrounding areas. The fat cells collapse and are naturally flushed from your body through your liver and excreted as waste. Unlike liposuction, CoolSculpting eliminates the fat cells which prevents them from growing back in the treated area.
Areas that can be targeted with Coolsculpting Include:
- Abdomen, Flank, Thighs, Chin area, Below the butt area, Upper Arms, Lower Back, Upper Back, Banana Roll
CoolSculpting is not for everyone. Individuals who maintain a balanced diet, are within 30lbs of their ideal weight, and exercise regularly are good candidates. CoolSculpting is not meant to replace a healthy diet and exercise regimen. Most individuals will not notice a reduction in pounds, rather, they will notice a reduction in fat across a specific area. Those who have that final pesky fat that is lingering around will be more idealistic as CoolSculpting is not a weight loss program.
If you are looking to lose weight (more than 30 lbs) you should check out our Rapid Clean Start Weight Loss Program https://www.glamrusmedspa.com/weight-loss.html
You should think of CoolSculpting as an aid that will help you accomplish your goals and of reducing fat in the target area.

Rosacea, acne, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, dry or oily skin been a problem? Are you ready to get rid of those acne scars, sun spots or fine lines once and for all? Our facial characteristics are what will influence our attractiveness to the public. The first thing we see in the mirror and the last thing we would like to play surgery Russian Roulette with.
For a less, complex procedure that requires no downtime and provides immediate results, try one of our most popular facial options -The Aquafacial! With the Aquafacial, there is no rough tools or a list of do’s and don’ts. It is a multi-step process that will take approximately one hour from start to finish.
What is an Aquafacial? An Aqua facial is a non-invasive, moisturizing, soothing facial that exfoliates, extracts, hydrates and cleanses the skin. Aquafacials are perfect for those of us who prefer not to inject chemicals in our face but would like things such as fine lines, acne scars, sun spots, wrinkles or hyperpigmentation reduced, this economical routine can make just as much of a difference, without the dangers and harsh side effects. Unlike other cosmetic procedures, Aquafacials works on ANY skin type, even those that suffer from acne and rosacea!
What happens during an Aquafacial? First thing is our free consultation. Each facial is customized to your specific skincare needs.
There are 6 steps in total for this treatment:
Step 1: Cleaning and Exfoliation. Your technician will use a rough sponge like tool on your face to sweep up all of the dead skin cells and dirt on the epidermis, prepping for the Aquafacial.
Step 2: Microdermabrasion. This process is done to smooth out the skin and remove any bumps and imperfections along the surface.
Step 3: Aqua suction. A small-vacuum like object will then be used to get into your pores and pull up any dirt or debris that may be clogging them, while re-inserting water to help rehydrate the skin.
Step 4: Microcurrent & Radio Frequency. A combination of microcurrent and radio frequency is used to tighten and tone the skin, helping reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps reduce the appearance of under eye circles.
Step 5: Vitamin C. Vitamin C oil will be smoothed onto your skin to promote elasticity and hydration. This serum is known to lock in the magic and prevent any dirt and oils from entering your pores.
Step 6: Cryotherapy. A Cryotherapy tool is used to seal in the vitamin c and water into your skin.
Bonus: Sunscreen is applied generously and a hand and head massage is used to finish the experience.
Your skin did not get those acne scars or fine lines overnight—therefore, multiple Aquafacials are recommended to help treat the area. It is suggested to go once every two weeks for the first couple of sessions, or until you get the results you are looking to achieve. Once you are happy with your appearance, it will be best to follow up with a monthly treatment.
There are many facial and procedures out there that promise to reduce these issues we may face, but not many can promise to have minimal to almost no downtime or side effects. And not to mention, most of them are not suited for just any skin type. Aquafacials have no limitations to skin type or color and will have you looking your best as long as you have them done on a monthly scheduled basis.

Laser Hair Removal | 8 Must Know Facts
Laser hair removal has become increasingly popular with men and women due to its noninvasive and cost-effective procedure. This quick process can be the answer to getting rid of that embarrassing facial hair and minimizing razor bumps and ingrown hairs in many different parts of the body. Look at our most frequently asked questions and facts about laser hair removal to determine if this is the right procedure for you.
1. Is it painful?
Everyone’s level of pain tolerance varies, but for the majority, it is more of a discomfort. Depending on the area of treatment and the thickness of the hair, will depend on the intensity of the laser and the level of pain experienced. Upper lip, underarms and bikini line are the areas where the skin is the thinnest and can be more sensitive than other body parts. The laser feels like a rubber band popping on the skin, or small zaps.
2. Does it work with thick, coarse and dark hair?
Those with thick, coarse, dark hair are the perfect candidates for laser hair removal because the laser is attracted to the pigment in the hair follicles. Lighter colored hair may require more treatments.
3. When should I expect results?
Most clients notice the difference within the first two to three sessions, depending on the thickness of the hair. If the hair continues to grow between sessions, the hair will grow thinner and slower.
4. Side Effects
Most side effects are minor and temporary and can include sensitivity to the area, redness and irritation. The aftermath has been more notably described as a minor sunburn.
5. Is it permanent?
No procedure can guarantee permanent hair removal, however, most patients can expect a seventy percent reduction in hair growth. Results vary among clients. Hormones, medication and genetics play a part in the regrowth of hair.
6. Are men good candidates?
Yes! Laser hair removal can help achieve a hair free experience for men in areas where they want to be hair free like chest and back. Depending on the thickness of the hair, it may require more sessions and frequent touch-ups to keep it from growing back. You can now say goodbye to nicks, ingrown and uneven patches of hair. Do keep in mind, hair growth is driven by testosterone, the more testosterone, the more sessions required.
7. Brazilian Laser Hair Removal, is it possible?
Yes, in fact, it has become increasingly popular throughout the years. The thought of throwing on a bikini and not having to worry when was the last time you shaved can be life changing. Plus you’ll save $ by not having to purchase razors, shaving cream and other shaving products regularly.
8. How long does it take?
Depending on the size of the area getting lasered, each session can take from a couple of minutes to an hour. You will be given more information during your consultation.

Microdermabrasion vs. Microneedling—What’s the Difference?
We’ve heard the names before, Microdermabrasion and Microneedling, but what is the difference? We all want a facial procedure that will provide us with quick results, long term effects and is as painless as possible. Let’s face it, having a risky procedure is one thing, but having one done on your face is another story. This article will explain the differences each of these procedures to help you determine which one may suite you the most.
This non-invasive treatment exfoliates your skin to give it a smoother and younger appearance. It is known as the “Lunch hour treatment” due to the procedure lasting between 30 min to an hour. Microdermabrasion’s main focus is to remove the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin to rejuvenate your face, smooth all bumps and imperfections, leaving you feeling refreshed and your facial skin glowing!
Those with acne scars will see a a difference too, however, as a rule of thumb, it may require multiple treatments to get the best results.
This treatment can be done on all skin types and tones.
Those with acne scars, stretch marks, large pores and uneven pigmentation will benefit from Microneedling the most. Microneedling uses very tiny needles to puncture the dermis of the skin and reach the epidermis. Acne scars and uneven pigmentation are layers deep and require a new surface to produce positive results. Although it is an invasive procedure, it has more of an uncomforting feeling rather than painful--think of it as collagen induction therapy. This procedure can be used on any part of the body.
Both of these treatments will provide positive results. The decision of which to choose will be based on the end results you are looking for, as well as the skin issues you’re trying to overcome. To determine which procedure will be best for you, schedule a free consultation with us so our aesthetician can do a personal assessment of your skin. Dermaplaning vs Microdermabrasion
With so many facial treatments out there, how do you know which one will work for you? We are going to talk about the difference between Dermaplaning and Microdermabrasion, including which is more beneficial to each skin type.
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliation and its purpose is to remove layers of dead skin and “peach fuzz” from the face. Dermaplaning removes soft facial hair that traps dirt or oils and can reduce the appearance of mild acne scars. It also helps with fading away those fine lines while promoting smoother skin.
How is Dermaplaning done?
A sterile scalpel is lightly passed on the face and will remove all the peach fuzz and dead skin cells. The entire treatment normally takes about 15 minutes with no downtime.
Who is a good candidate for Dermaplaning?
Those with rosacea, inflamed acne or sensitive skin are not good candidates as it can irritate the skin.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion’s focus is to remove dead skin cells on the surface the skin to rejuvenate your face, smooth all bumps and imperfections.
How is Microdermabrasion done?
This procedure uses a mildly abrasive instrument to sand your skin while removing the outer layer. The results of the procedure depend on the number of scars you currently have.
Who is a good candidate for Microdermabrasion?
This procedure is great for sun damage, stretch marks and uneven skin tone including acne scars.
The result is what will determine what procedure works best for you. If you are looking for a rejuvenating facial that will help make your face look refreshed while shaving away weeks of dead skin cells, Dermaplaning will be right for you. For those who want to remove deep acne scars, sunspots, fine lines or stretch marks, Microdermabrasion will be your best option as the procedure goes beneath the skin.
To determine which procedure will be best for you, schedule a free consultation with us so our aesthetician can do a personal assessment of your skin. Call 954.533.8960 or e-
